Cabo Vacation Q+A
So Excited to finally Share with you guys all the details and answers to your questions about my Cabo Vacation!
I Had never been to Cabo before so I didn’t know what to expect, but it totally met/exceeded my expectations and I am counting down the days until I can go again!
So lets get right into it…
YOUR QUESTIONS:
Where did you Stay?
Mar Del Cabo!
It was absolutely GORGEOUS. I can’t say enough good things! The staff, the food, the whole resort was stunning and felt like we were almost in Greece with all the gorgeous flowers and the stunning white + blue architecture ! The best part is that it really wasn’t expensive to stay there – it’s VERY reasonable compared to other resorts. Will 100% be going back to stay here!
Was it all Inclusive? Did you use a Travel Agent?
So as far as I know, NO. Our breakfast was included but we had to pay for drinks + all food outside of that. I’m not sure if they offer all-inclusive options but I know that was how our package was! However, everything from drinks to food was very reasonable! We got $5 glasses of wine one night if that tells you anything! We were really curious what our food + drink bill was going to be at the end of the trip because we really just ordered what we wanted, but we were pleasantly surprised it wasn’t bad at all! Also Shea booked the resort herself (I’m guessing thru a travel website) and we booked our own flights! So no need for an agent. But, if you need that peace of mind, most agents don’t charge extra to help book everything for you! I love using travel agents!
Cost?
Ballpark with plane tickets + stay + food/extras I personally probably spent a little over $3000. Maybe a little less! All depends on where you stay but our resort was SO REASONABLE! I do know that other resorts can be very very pricey!
Did You feel Safe?
YES. I was honestly a little concerned how two women would feel in Cabo alone but we felt totally safe the whole time! I will say we really did not venture to the “downtown” party/bar scene (it’s pretty big there especially since the drinking age is 18) and so I don’t know if that would change my perspective or not. I would just always be mindful and really not put yourself in any situation where you aren’t able to be super aware of what’s going on. ESPECIALLY if you are drinking. So many bad things can happen on a regular normal day so just be super careful when you are in those situations!
How did you get transportation? Was it sketchy?
Our resort set up all of our taxis to/from the airport and to the marina when we went on the Yacht! We did have to get out own Taxi back to the resort after we got off the boat, but there were PLENTY of taxis around and we felt really comfortable. But, if you don’t feel comfortable getting transportation on your own, make sure you reach out to the resort and they can set it all up for you!
Would you recommend as a good Honeymoon Spot?
OMG YES. Especially our resort because it was so chill and relaxing, and the flowers and whole place was really beautiful and romantic! I would say it probably all depends on where you stay. There was basically NO ONE else staying here when we went. It was honestly crazy – maybe two other couples! So we felt secluded in a way and from what I hear it tends to be that way around there for the most part!
Mask Rules + Covid Testing Info
So mask rules are about the same there as here. However when you’re outside you don’t need one. Since our hotel was basically all open air – we never really needed to wear one (also since we were practically the only people there). It’s one of those things that it is what it is. I don’t know of anyone who likes wearing a mask so I get it. But it really isn’t bad and most places are open air and outside so I wouldn’t worry about it. As far as covid testing – you aren’t required to get tested to enter into Mexico, but you do have to get a negative test to enter back into the U.S. Our resort was located next to the Grand Velas (which is their larger sister resort that’s HUGE, modern and STUNNING) that they transported us too and did our testing in-house with their on site Doctor). You get your results in 15 minutes! Super easy and clean + professional.
What Activities did y’all do? Restaurants? Fun Things!
There is so much to do in Cabo! I would talk to your resort about excursions so that they can help set them up for you! The Yacht of course was INCREDIBlE. (which someone asked how much that cost and we were blessed to be set up with the yacht by the hotel on them! I’m not sure the price but the company was called @caboyacht3) 100% recommend renting a boat or just setting up a boat day so you can see the Cabo Arches since those are like a landmark icon! Also riding horses on the beach is amazing and totally recommend! For the most part we relaxed, ate, and drank haha. But there is so much to see and do! Our resort had an amazing restaurant we ate at a bunch and then the sister resort (Grand Velas) that was right next door to us + walking distance had 6 restaurants on site! Our food was INCREDIBLE. But there are SO MANY amazing restaurants that you won’t have any trouble finding them!
