Review: City Cosmetics Lip Plumping Lip Gloss

When City Cosmetics reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to Review some of their products, I was SO excited because I had previously purchased some of their lip plumping products (which is what they ended up sending me) in the past and I LOVED them. Now, I never have very high expectations for lip plumping products, because usually, I see ZERO difference in lip volume. Now with that being said, there is only so much that a topical product can do to increase size and volumes, so you have to have realistic expectations, but common – gimme something!

That is why I truly love this product. I actually see a difference in fullness! Of course minimal, but it’s definitely obvious. (I’ll have before and after pictures at the end of the post).

So let’s get into the colors. I think they do a good job of having a nice range of shades. They are missing those deep berry/vampy tones,  but I usually am wary of wearing a dark lipgloss anyways – as it can be messy. So I stick to the more neutral/nude shades when it comes to lipglosses. These shades lessen in opacity as you move to the clear shade.

They are great to wear alone, but you can also top these over your favorite lipstick/lip liner.

When it comes to my favorite shades, I have 4.

From left to right these shades are Los Angelips, Sun Deigo, Tokyo Kiss, and Clear. I’ve been wearing that beige-nude Tokyo Kiss NON-STOP. Like ya’ll it is gorgeous on.

Moving on to packaging, I was really blown away. Each lipgloss comes in this incredibly nice cardboard box, in which the gloss is nicely placed in the center on display with black foam. It’s really presented very luxuriously and I am always a sucker for presentation. The gloss itself is in a nice tube with a “lux” gold top. I think these are beautiful and a great size as well. From left to right these shades are :

Holly, Sangria, Plum Springs, Orchid, Tinsel Town, Los Angelips, Sun Diego, Nude York, Tokyo Kiss, Clear.

BEFORE AND AFTER:

This is without anything on, then with lip liner, then with the gloss on top.

While the results are minimal, they are totally there ( I see the most change in my top lip!). These go for $35 a piece which is higher, but theymhave a 60-day money back guarantee with this product, because the more you use it, the better your results will be and they recommend using them for a full 30 days to see the best results! I think that’s amazing and speaks for itself! I do not find that these burn your lips whatsoever, there is, however, the SLIGHTEST tingle that shouldn’t really bother anyone else you are ultra sensitive.
